An Airstream Sprinter with Problems

This customer brought this Airstream Class B on a Mercedes Sprinter chassis to me complaining of lack of sufficient charging from the Go Power flexible panels and a malfunctioning and under powered 1000 Watt Magnum inverter. Also the factory installed a non bluetooth capable controller. Sprinters are fun to work on(sarcasm) and the only 1000 Watt inverter I could fit in location under the seat was a Xantrex. It ended up being a huge improvement.
As far as the solar charging problems where concerned I found multiple failures in the MC4 connectors on the roof and huge output degradation from the panels. This isn’t the first time the problem has been MC4 connectors and flexible panels.
So we removed all the MC4 birds nest of cables, installed new cable with a new roof junction box and replaced the flexible panels with Made in the USA Zamp Mono crystalline panels.
Along with all that I installed a Victron VE Direct Dongle to allow the solar charge controller to be bluetooth capable.
The customer reports overall awesomeness of the system now.
